Jill
Growing up dancing, singing and acting I knew that it was something that I wanted to continue to do and to pass on to the next generation. I have performed with musical theatre societies all over Essex and I work with youth musical theatre societies in the area. I started teaching at stage schools when I was 18, and have never looked back. I set up Showstoppers in 2010 and can honestly say that teaching the classes is one of the highlights of the week.

I have been teaching at showstoppers for 6 years now and have loved every minute of it. Starting from volunteering to now helping with showcases and classes, it has inspired my love for teaching, so much so, I’m studying to become a teacher at university. I love musical theatre and keen on pretty much all of it! Having seen the students grow and all the happy tears they’ve made me cry, I can’t wait to see showstoppers keep on growing

Despite only joining the Showstoppers team a few months ago, I have loved every moment of teaching and witnessing the kids’ confidence grow more and more each week! I have been training in singing, dancing and acting for the past 14 years, attending my very first ballet lesson at the age of 3. In more recent years, I have enjoyed performing in the Civic Theatre Chelmsford, playing roles such as Anita in West Side Story, Little Inez in Hairspray, Dorothy Brock in 42nd Street and Fantine in Les Miserables. With a particular love for acting, I enjoy teaching acting games to the kids and helping them unlock their inner-performer!

I started at Showstoppers in Infant School myself and I'm pleased to be back helping Jill. I’ve found that having experience of performing in 42nd Street and Les Miserables with Young Gen at the Civic, has really helped. Some of my best memories were made at Showstoppers and it’s a pleasure to be creating more
