After teaching at many different stage schools all over Essex, Jill believed that classes and training should be available to everyone no matter what their families financial situation may be. So in 2010, Showstoppers was formed as a community stage school based in Chelmer Village. Each class has always and will always be paid on a ‘pay as you go’ basis. This meant that no one is committed to paying for a whole term upfront.

The classes went from strength to strength with annual performances at local high schools, local theaters, various Chelmsford City events and local community performances. The Thursday class also successfully auditioned to perform on stage at Disneyland Paris in October 2020, which has been postponed to October 2022.

Due to the popularity of the Thursday night classes, Showstoppers opened a new class in Chelmer Village on a Friday evening to accommodate those waiting to join. It launched in May 2021 and now has over 40 regular students.

Showstoppers has been overwhelmed by the demand for new classes so are continuing to look to launch these in the Chelmsford area in the near future. Be sure to look at our Classes page to see what is available near you.
